We will be holding our Annual General Meeting (AGM) on the 23rd September at the Rhodes Community Hall in Dalston from 2:30pm to 6:00pm (please note the new time).
The AGM is an opportunity to reflect on the year gone by and to look to the future. All members are very welcome, whether seasoned campaigners or those joining us for the first time.
During the meeting we will be electing officers and appointing members to a variety of different roles. Keep an eye out for emails with details on all the roles we are looking for and how to express an interest.
Agenda includes:
- AGM Business including the election and selection of officers and other key roles
- Highlights of our councillors' activities in the past year with Cllr Alastair Binnie-Lubbock
- Presentation and Q&A with Zoë Garbett, Green Party candidate for Mayor of London
- Talk from Michael Lomotey: Black History, Black Futures: Antiblackness in climate change
Michael has previously worked on the human rights impacts of tourism and also sustainability and has a Masters in Climate Change Sustainability and Adaptation Planning. Michael’s PhD research centres on antiblackness in environmentalism, looking for solutions that are emancipatory, equitable, inclusive and therefore more efficient. He uses antiblackness as a theoretical ontological framework through which to uncover truths in environmental discourses.
Please RSVP using the button below so we can keep an eye on numbers.
Call for officers
We strongly encourage all members to consider joining our friendly and growing team of volunteer officers. You can read the role descriptions here.
Being a local party officer is a great opportunity to learn new skills, meet new people and be part of the Green Party's success. Please do come forward, whether or not you're available for the AGM.
If you have questions about what's involved in any role, feel free to contact Stefan (HGP Coordinator) on [email protected]. To put yourself forward, email Carrie Hamilton (AGM Chair) on [email protected] by Friday 22 September.
All members are reminded of the Safeguarding Commitment and Code of Conduct which they agreed to upon joining the party.
If you are under 18 and would like to attend this event, please ask a parent or guardian to contact the organiser (details below) and sign a consent form.
