September Policy and Ideas

The first of our regular Policy and Ideas meetings. These are an opportunity for members to contribute to and discuss local party strategy and to understand and inform policies.

Each month we will select two or three topics to give each one enough space to have a detailed discussion and to make real progress.

This September we have three topics:

XR and Climate Emergency – We will learn about the upcoming October actions from XR and how we can get involved, including looking at the list of XR demands from Hackney Council. We will also decide on policies and actions that we as the Hackney Green Party could take on to ensure that Hackney Council lives up to its recent Climate Emergency Declaration.

Green Party Drugs Policy – We will learn about the new proposed Green Party drugs policy and investigate how we can implement it in Hackney, formulating a plan of action. We are particularly keen for members involved with this issue to share their experience.

General Election Campaign – With a general election imminent, we are looking for input about important key messages and tactics we should be using in our local campaign.

Meeting starts at 7pm prompt - lots of discuss - room will be open from 6:45pm onwards so please come early so we can start on time.

Look forward to seeing you all there!

All members are reminded of the Safeguarding Commitment and Code of Conduct which they agreed to upon joining the party.
