Come along to one of our events and meet other Hackney residents with shared green values.  We hold a monthly social event that anyone can attend in addition to other local events that we hold or participate in.

  • Hackney Downs Action Morning with next Mayor of Hackney, Zoë Garbett - 28 March

    💚💚 Zoë Garbett, the Green candidate for the Mayor of Hackney election in May 2026, is joining us in Hackney Downs. 💚💚 Please join us to make this our biggest action day ever! 💚💚

    Meeting at 225 Evering Road, Hackney Downs on Saturday 28 March. 

    *Arrive at 10.50am for welcome, introductions and training for first-time canvassers. 
    *At 11am we'll set off to meet residents in Hackney Downs.
    *1pm - lunch (veggie/vegan), please RSVP for numbers.
    *At 2pm, we'll set off to meet residents in Hackney Downs.

    Let's take another step in turning Hackney Green with this sociable Green Action.

    Is it your first time? We warmly welcome diverse members, newcomers and those who aren't yet members of the Green Party. We'll make sure you feel welcome and part of the friendly team of action day volunteers!

    We will door-knock in pairs (for those who want to meet residents) - no experience is necessary and there's always an option to deliver leaflets in pairs.

    There will be full training provided and friendly Greens on hand to support every volunteer.

    This essential campaign activity gives us the best chance of getting more Green policies passed at Hackney council, and electing Green Councillors in local elections. The social, climate and ecological crises demands the need for Greens voices in the room. We need your help today.

    Join us on Saturday 28th March where we'll be engaging with residents and collecting casework for our Councillor Liam and local volunteers to take up.

    Haven't been canvassing before? Don't worry, first timers are always so welcome, and we will make sure you have everything you need 💚

    Come and join us for the chance to meet fellow Greens and become more engaged in our community!

  • DE BEAUVOIR Canvassing

    Arrival time is at 12.45PM for canvassing to start at 1pm. Don't worry if you are late, just make sure we have your number and we can share with you our live locations. 

    Whether you're a new member or an old member who wants to get more involved, everyone is welcome! We'll also look to grab some food locally, all are welcome.

    From 1pm we will go out around the ward door knocking, no experience required, training will be provided.

  • London Fields Canvassing

    Come and join fellow Greens to get engaged with your local community!

    We will be knocking on doors having friendly chats with our neighbours and getting the word out about Hackney Green Party.

    The team will provide training at the start of the event and you'll be buddied up with someone experienced if you are new.

    No need to prepare anything in advance, just bring yourself and some comfy shoes!

    We’re meeting at 51 Rochford Walk on London Fields West Side (park side) at 3pm

    We'll be out until at least 5pm, and longer if people are feeling energised and want to continue, if you are running late just text the number below and we can let you know where we are.

  • Dalston Action Evening - 31 March

    Come & join us in Dalston as we head out into the ward to knock on doors, engage with residents and tell them about the great work our Green team have lined up for 2026!

    We will meet at the bottom of Ridley Road Market (Kingsland Road) at 6pm.

    Something very exciting is happening across Hackney right now! Our membership is growing and we are getting a lot of positive feedback on the door step...

    During our action day, we knock on doors and speak to residents to get the word out about what Rachel & Zoë stand for and listen to their concerns and feedback. We will also speak to voters about Zoë's fantastic Mayoral campaign.

     

    Timings:

    6pm: Meet & Greet plus briefing

    6.15pm - 7.30pm: Head into the ward & knock on doors

    The team will provide a full briefing and training at the start of the event, and you'll be buddied up with someone experienced if you are relatively new. No need to prepare anything in advance, just bring yourself and some comfy shoes.

  • Social Climbing

     Up for a bit of "Social Climbing"?

    Our next Hackney Green's Social is Tuesday 31 March at 6.30 p.m. at The Castle, Green Lanes London N4 2HA https://www.castle-climbing.co.uk

    We've got a deal for concessionary charges at £12.50 per person plus four free passes for low-waged/unemployed, (courtesy of club member Florence Schechter). plus £4.00 for shoe hire, Anyone who is coming should do this safety waiver in advance https://widgets.sendmoregetbeta.com/13378/document (it can be done on the day but uses up valuable climbing time). Anyone who wants to rope climb should contact Florence on Slack beforehand. Wear comfy, stretchy clothes and bring water, sunglasses and ear plugs recommended for anyone with light/noise sensibilities. The centre does provide activities for disabled climbers but only on the ground floor area. Guide dogs are allowed. For non climbers there is a Veggie Cafe and a free garden area.

     

    We will start doing a joint warm-up and a safety briefing at 6.30 pm so if anyone comes later they will need to do a warm-up by themselves and make sure they know all the safety rules by looking on the website.
