Your candidates in Cazenove
Dr. Charlie Lawrie

Dr. Charlie Lawrie teaches at the University of Sussex. He lives in Hackney but spent several years in the Middle East supporting conflict resolution in Syria, accountability in Lebanon, and serving as a trustee of Quaker schools in Lebanon and Palestine. In London, he has interpreted for Syrian refugees in the UK, and mentored students at the London Academy of Excellence. His commitment to community service motivated him to represent Cazenove.
“I’m honoured to have the chance to represent Cazenove. I am determined to protect local residents and business owners from high gas and electricity prices, tackle mould and damp, and provide safe and warm homes for all.”
Emma Neath

Originally from the Peak District, Emma has called London home for the past 15 years. Living on a narrowboat permanently moored in Hackney, she brings a perspective rooted in alternative and overlooked communities. Emma works in primary education and is a member of an education union. A committed volunteer, Emma has worked at a central London foodbank, led numerous fundraising initiatives, and assists at a local LGBTQ+ film festival. She is passionate about amplifying underrepresented voices and championing inclusion in education and the wider community.
Emma says, “Hackney is a place where people from all walks of life find a home: I know that from experience. As a councillor, I’ll work to keep it that way by fighting for affordable housing, supporting our schools, and working to make sure no one is left behind by the cost of living.”
