Gemma Per-Bo

Gemma began her professional life as a dancer and choreographer, spending two decades fundraising, organising and facilitating community art work. She became Disabled while studying for a Master's Degree. Gemma’s journey with the Green Party began after she lost her home and received support from Green Party councillor, Zoë Garbett. Gemma is a long-term resident of Hackney. As a councillor, she will work hard for Disabled people’s inclusion and access from a social and cultural approach to disability. Understanding impairments as a natural health phenomenon and acknowledging disability as the barriers Disabled people face every day. Gemma will commit to reduce visible and invisible barriers for Hackney residents, such as step-free buildings and attending behaviours as barriers.
Paul Anderson

Paul Anderson has spent over 40 years working in youth and community leadership and has worked in De Beauvoir ward for more than 12 years. As CEO of a local charity, he has led teams of staff and volunteers while working closely with schools, councils, police, and community partners. Paul has worked alongside residents navigating inequality and systemic challenges, families facing barriers to opportunity and parents grieving children lost to violence. These experiences have shaped his commitment to justice, fairness, and ensuring local voices are properly heard. Paul says, “My work has always centred on listening to people and amplifying voices too often excluded. As a councillor, I would work to ensure residents feel heard, represented, and supported.”
