Your candidates in Hoxton East & Shoreditch
Mihai Chereji

Mihai is a software developer and public policy analyst, having helped write strategy documents for national governments. He moved to London almost a decade ago, finding Hackney to be a lovely adoptive home. He has political experience in his native Romania, where he has helped a budding green party called Sens during the 2024 general elections by running for Senate and shaping their manifesto. Passionate about social justice, delivering quality public services and realm, active transport and tackling the climate emergency, he now wants to make Hackney an even more welcoming, greener and lovely place to live.
Janet Lee

Janet is a BAFTA-winning TV executive who for many years oversaw all of BBC Studios arts documentaries made in London. Janet was a key player in the Women’s Equality Party starting a branch from scratch. Her growing disillusion with politics was transformed by her experience of the Hackney Green Party. She lives in Shoreditch, and loves the vibrancy but believes we can only enjoy our neighbourhood if we feel safe and valued.
She says, "I want everyone to feel safe, night and day, at home or on the streets, as a girl or woman, whether older or younger. There’s so much desperation and poverty, side-by-side with extraordinary wealth: let’s make Hoxton and Shoreditch for everyone."
Romain Muhammad

Romain Muhammad is a leadership coach, author, Keynote speaker and people, culture and performance strategist standing in Hoxton East and Shoreditch. Raised in a working-class Windrush heritage family, he built his career helping organisations, individuals understand behaviour, confidence and belonging. He has worked with global organisations and built a global a consultancy supporting fairer workplaces. Romain wants Hackney to invest in opportunity, education and community voice, ensuring residents from every background feel heard and represented in local decision making.
"My goal is simple: a borough where everyone has the confidence and opportunity to belong and lead."
