Your candidates in Springfield

Chaim Babad

Chaim comes from a large Jewish family and understands the challenges of busy homes and the benefits of strong communities. Their family has lived three generations in Hackney. What drives them most is being there for residents, answering emails, phone calls, and helping with everyday issues like missed bin collections, broken roads, housing concerns or anything that needs improving.

Chaim says “I want to listen and help. As a Jewish Green Party candidate, I believe local politics should be about care, fairness, and community. I'm not a career politician. I want to hear your issue, respond quickly, and help residents solve problems.”

Boris Knezevic

Boris is a Bosnian-born human rights lawyer who has worked for years in charities focused on improving access to justice. He has lived in Hackney most of his adult life, having first moved to London more than 20 years ago, and is now a proud dad to a two-year-old. Raised and educated bilingually across cultures, he values Hackney’s diversity and the need to celebrate and protect it from division and hate crime.

“As a councillor for Springfield, I will champion fair and affordable housing, safer streets, strong local services, access to justice, and a greener, healthier community.”

Anne Whitehead

Anne is a strategic communications consultant from Canada who calls Hackney home. She has founded PR firms in Uganda and England, leading campaigns for artists, politicians, businesses, and NGOs. Anne became the Hackney Green Party Press Officer and a communications advisor to Zoë Garbett after spearheading a campaign to Protect Hackney Nurseries. She has worked for many years in London’s higher education sector and advised cultural figures like George The Poet, Bobi Wine and Zohran Mamdani.

Anne says: “Be honest, bold and work your butt off to do what’s right. You’ll reap what you sow.”
