December Policy and Ideas - LTNs and Gentrification

Our regular monthly Policy and Ideas meetings are an opportunity for members to contribute to and discuss local party strategy and to understand and inform policies.

Each month we will select a topic to give each one enough space to have a detailed discussion and to make real progress.

This month we are looking forward to the Hackney Council and Mayor elections in 2022 and discussing our position on Low Traffic Neighbourhoods (LTNs).

This contentious topic will no doubt be high on agenda of many voters in these elections and it is important that we have a clear and practical position on the issue that our candidates and campaigners can stand behind.

We have discussed this before and came up with the statement here, so this session will revisit these discussions and build upon them.

We will then a brief look at gentrification, how is this affecting Hackney and how do we as Greens talk about it.

Finally we will have an update from Mayor Candidate, Zoë Garbett, on the key policies for the election campaign discussed last month.

Please note this is a Members Only event.

All members are reminded of the Safeguarding Commitment and Code of Conduct which they agreed to upon joining the party.
