SIGN-UP BELOW FOR HACKNEY GREEN PARTY’S FIRST COMMUNITY ORGANISING WORKSHOP

As part of our commitment to doing politics differently, the want our members to take a leading role in delivering real, material change in our communities. 

We have put together ten action working groups dedicated to designing and implementing grass-roots, community-led initiatives to help support the delivery of the Hackney Green Party’s manifesto pledges across key policy areas. 

Think tenants and residents’ associations, food co-ops and community gardens, resident takeovers of our community centres - the possibilities are enormous. 

This introductory workshop will be the first step in getting these groups up and running and on the path to driving real change. In it, groups will learn the first principles of community organising and discuss what it means to us as the Hackney Green Party, as well as developing a plan of action for their first member-led initiative. From that point onwards, groups will meet regularly to put these plans into action. 

Both the inroductory workshop, and future working group activity, will be members only - so if you haven’t joined yet, now is your chance!

The workshop will be help in person at the Gascoyne 2 Community Centre, 2A Wick Road, London, E9 5AY. 

If you have a specific accessibility requirement that means you will be unable to attend in person, please let us know and we will accomodate. Lunch and snacks will be provided, with breaks between sessions for meals. Please let us know of any dietary requirements. The venue is wheelchair accessible.
